Mitchells & Butlers

Location: Birmingham, England
Website: M & B Website
M&B was founded in the Cape Hill area of Birmingham in a merger between two Midland brewing dynasties dating back to 1898. In 1961 the company was merged 1961 with Bass, Ratcliff and Gretton Ltd to form Bass, Mitchells & Butlers. Further mergers between Bass and other companies saw the M&B name removed although it remained a trading name within the group. Bass is now in control of Coors and M&B itself is now a pub and restaurant business and no longer has a brewing interest.
