Schous Bryggeri
Location: Trondheimsveien, Oslo, Norway
Website: Schous - This website seems to be the website of the company managing the old brewery buildings.
From what I can gather the Schous Brewery was founded by Julius Christian Schou in about 1821 when he bought a brewery in Oslo from Jørgen Young (who himself had bought a brewery established by John Thrane around 1800). The brewery moved around various locations in Oslo before moving to a newly built facility in Trondheimsveien in 1873. In 1962 the brewery merged with Frydenlund Breweries and in 1977 the company was renamed as Frydenlund Schous Brewery. In 1978, Nora, the Norwegian drinks manufacturer who also owned Ringens took over the company and by 1981 the brewery had been closed.
