The Malta Export Brewery was founded in 1928 and launched Cisk Pilsner in the same year. The brewery eventually merged with Simonds Farsons, which was the Maltese branch of Simonds Brewery in Berkshire, England, in 1948 and became known as Simonds Farsons Cisk Limited.
