H & G Simonds

Founded in Reading in 1785 by William Blackall Simonds it
was named after William's two sons Henry & George to become H & G Simonds. In
1960 the brewery merged with Courage & Barclay to
become Courage, Barclay & Simonds & Co which tuned into just Courage Ltd in
1970. The Simonds name still lives on in the
Simonds Farsons Cisk brewery in
Malta.
