Tempo Beer Industries Ltd
Location: Netanya, Israel
Website: Tempo
The Tempo company has its history back in 1934 when the
Rothschild family began beer production in a factory called "Palestine
Breweries" in Rishon Lezion. As the business developed it was purchased by an
Englishman William Robinson in 1951. In 1952 another company called "The
National Lager Breweries" was established in Netanya. In 1965 the two companies
merged and were eventually bought by Morrie Goldman of Canada in 1976. In 1985
the company was bought again, this time by the Bournstein family and merged with
the Tempo soft drink company. In 1999 18% of the company was purchased by
Heineken and it now imports and distributes this beer in Israel.
