Website:          Entry for Tennet's in the Directory of UK Real Ale Breweries

The Wellpark Brewery was established in 1745 and Tennet's were the first brewers in Scotland to make a lager beer and they did they as far back as 1893 when Tennet's Lager won the highest award at the Chicago World Fair. The brewery was taken over by Charrington in 1963 and then became a fully owned subsidiary of Bass. Bass is now owned by Inbev. Tennet's are keen sponsors of many different events in the UK including the Scottish Cup and various music festivals. They were also famous for the design of their beer cans in the 70s and 80s, each one adorned with a beautiful lady, some of which can be seen here.
