Ushers of Trowbridge PLC
Location: Trowbridge, Wiltshire
Website: Entry for Ushers on the Directory of UK Real Ale Brewers
Usher's was founded in 1824 under the name of Usher's
Wiltshire Brewery. In 1960 it was merged with Watney Mann and like it's merged
partner, ownership was transferred to Grand Metropolitan Hotel chain, although
the brewery did retain some sort of independence by keeping the Ushers name. The
brewery was closed in 2000 and the company's pub estate renamed itself to Innspired Pubs plc. Ushers beers are still brewed by Refresh UK.
