Founded in 1824 by Clemens Veltins the name C & A was taken
from the twins, Carl and Anton who took over the company in 1893. The brewery is
still owned by the family and is a much respected name in Germany. The company
owns the football stadium in Gelsenkirchen, used recently in the 2006 Fifa World
Cup.
