The Wrexham Lager Beer Co Ltd was founded way back in 1882 by German immigrants who tried to recreate their native drink in their new home in Wales. The company was bought by Ind Coope in just after the second world war. Ind Coope eventually merged with Ansells and Tetley Walker to become Allied Breweries. In 1992 Allied merged with Carlsberg who ran the brewery until it closed in the year 2000..
