Belchamp St Paul and Belchamp Otten are situated in the beautiful Stour Valley on the Suffolk/Essex border, whose distinctive landscape and many ancient villages have inspired such famous artists as John Constable and Thomas Gainsborough. The Belchamps were mentioned in the Domesday Book. With a population of 265 and 153 homes, as well as St Andrew's Church, Belchamp St Paul has its own village school, the Community House and two public houses. Belchamp Otten has 136 residents and 77 homes, its Church, St Ethelbert and All Saints, and one pub.
