The seeds of these are to be found here, a message board mostly frequented by my good friends Akio, Hannah, and Siobhan, who are (for some reason unfathomable to me) obsessed by the Libertines, and post up erotic fanfiction about two of the members of the Libertines (Pete and Carl - see I know their names, wot a trendie I am) engaging in acts of homosexual buggery. Therefore sometime in about spring 2005 my strange sense of humour compelled me to write a lunatic parody of these stories, in which my sort-of alter-ego, Pope Lucius IV, and an offensively stereotyped German called Kommander-Steppenfuhrer Wehrner Staffen von Schugenstein blow the Liberteenytinytodgers up with a fuck-off nukuler bomb. That's been lost now sadly but a series of retarded sequels ensued, getting remarkably samey towards the end.

For these depressingly crap flights of fancy, I am forever endebted to, in no particular order: Akio, Siobhan, and especially Hannah (for originally inspiring them as well as receiving them with such good humour); The Simpsons; Monty Python; Terry Prachett; HP Lovecraft; the film Excalibur for the Gaelic chant in episode 5; The Crazy World of Arthur Brown; the Vatican; and of course the Libertines (especially Pete - OMG OMG HE IS SOOOO FIT!!111 LOLLLZZZZ).

A Fine Day to Die, part 2: Wehrner and the Naughty Things - not so good as the first one, which has been lost or deleted. The basic plot and title were ripped off from a segment of the Brand New Monty Python Bok.

A Fine Day to Die, part 3: Lucius is Extremely Silly

A Fine Day to Die, part 4: The Horror Beneath the Vatican and Other Tales of Terror - a slight Lovecraftian influence here

A Fine Day to Die, part 4, part 2: Vengeance is Extremely Silly - this is the original version.

A Fine Day to Die, part 4, part 2: Hannah's Rewrite - this is Hannah's, uh, edited version. I'll leave you to decide which one you prefer.
