One of the most commonly kept lonchura, these don't take much identifiying. the amount of white on the head increases with maturity, and varies in different sub-species.. Sexes are similar but can be distinguished in a true pair kept together by the amount of white on the head..... These birds will pair bond as juveniles and keeping several juveniles together is the best way to obtain a true pair that are likely to breed. to read my observations on this species click the link below
