Temba Biography

Temba were formed at the turn of the century in London. Their music is inspired by Cosmic Post Punk, Krautrock and Dirty Electronica.

They recorded their "Bad Business EP" in 2001 which was given away at gigs and made available for free download from their website. "The Motorway Is My Bride" and "Asylum" were recorded in 2005 in Wood Green.

The band has played throughout London at The Verge, Bull & Gate, Half Moon, Hope and Anchor, Caernarvon Castle and The Dublin Castle among others.

They have developed a vocal band of longhair supporters.

In July 05 the band played their first festival appearance among the dodgems at the Cornbury Festival in Oxfordshire.

They used to describe themselves as "artful pop" until someone pointed out how arsey that sounded. Now they call themselves Acid Monk instead.
