Welcome to the web site designed to keep you informed about the progress of the two census projects covering Norfolk and the 1891 Census project for Cambridge

We particularly need help on all projects at the Checking stage.

All pieces have to be Transcribed, Checked and Validated by different volunteers.

All the Census projects are available on CD Except Surrey 1891.

Current Status

1861 Census Norfolk

There are 78 separate pieces of which 12 are being transcribed, 1 piece is available for transcription,  2 pieces have been allocated for checking, 16 pieces are available for checking, 0 pieces are available for validation, 6 pieces are being validated and there are 41 pieces on line.

1871 Census Norfolk

There are 92 pieces available of which 23 are being transcribed, 29 are waiting to be allocated for transcription, 0 pieces are being checked, 22 pieces are available for Checking, 1 piece is available for validation, 1 piece is being validated and 16 pieces are on line.

1891 Census Norfolk

There are 81 separate pieces of which 4 Pieces have been allocated for Transcription, 7 are available for Transcription, 4 pieces have been allocated for Checking, 22 are available for Checking, 0 pieces are available for validation, 1 piece is being validated and 43 pieces are on line.

1891 Census Cambridgeshire

There are 34 separate pieces of which 5 have been allocated for transcription, 18 are available for Transcription. 4 pieces have been allocated for checking,2 pieces are available for checking and 5 pieces are on line.

1871 Census Surrey Rural

There are 77 separate pieces of which 14 have been allocated for transcription 61 are available for transcription, 1 piece is available for checking and 1 piece is available for validation.

1871 Census Surrey London

There are 149 separate pieces of which 13 have been allocated for transcription 114 pieces are available for transcription, 2 pieces have been allocated for checking 16 pieces are available for checking, 2 Pieces are being validated, 1 piece is available for validation and 1 piece is on line.

1891 Census Surrey

There are 83 separate pieces of which 14 are waiting for the original source material, 61 are available for Transcription, 2 Pieces are being transcribed, 2 pieces are available for checking, 0 pieces are being checked, 3 pieces are awaiting validation and 1 piece is on line.
