THE BLACK WIDOW - Power Level 10 (150pp)

I haven't fleshed out a full background yet, but the idea was to build a character who's a bit like Spider-Man, but going down the "criminals are a cowardly, superstitious lot" route rather than the "friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man" route.

She (and it has to be a she with that code-name) is supposed to be quite inexperienced and prone to getting caught out by attacks that surprise her or that she can't dodge. So she's great at dodging, but far from invulnerable. And, while she's trying to be scary, she's not quite as scary, as good a liar or as observant as she thinks she is. She's just a college student who has somehow got these powers and has set out to be a do-gooder. She plays the grim Batman-style vigilante, but she's not really that at heart. Given time, she could become a decent detective, though she's got no investigative skills to speak of at the moment. I'd imagine that a more experienced version of the character would work on better ways to investigate crimes than just stumbling across them or making a nuisance of herself until someone gives up and tells her what's going on, and would also work to plug deficiencies in her fighting skills, particularly defensively.

As for powers, she's not nearly as strong as Spider-Man is; she's about as strong as a pretty good athlete which is probably stronger than she looks. She doesn't hit people very hard. She is, though, AMAZINGLY agile and stealthy. She can spin webs to swing on or tangle people up (and she can blind them by webbing over their eyes, or trip them up with a webline). She can also "sting" them to paralyse them, just like the spider she's named after. Much to her relief, she has not so far felt the need to liquidise their internal organs and consume them.

I reckon she'd wear a slightly shiny black costume with red hour-glass markings of some kind. She'd have her hair, face and eyes completely hidden so as to look scary and arachnid and conceal from the criminals she fights that she's little more than a kid.
