In a week where very little happened we hit the streets and carried out a survey. This shows the attitude of the common man in the street.
Q. Sir, if attacked would you run away?
A. I have been attacked and no I didn’t run away.
Q. If another member of your family was attacked would you run away?
A. A member of my family was attacked and, had I been there, I would not have run away. No.
Q. Ah but how can you be sure if you haven’t been in the situation? Do you know what I mean?
A. Well, like I say, I am a proud man and I hope that if it came down to it I wouldn’t run away.
Q. Ah but you don’t really know how you would react do you – not for certain.
A. No I don’t suppose.
Q. It’s nothing to be ashamed of.
A. OK then.
The interview had to be terminated at this point as the man we were talking to suddenly bent down and drew a thick black line on the floor with a magic marker.
