Ducks - Mallards

The Mallard is one of the most familiar of ducks and can be seen on ponds, in parks and just about any place where there is water. We tend to take Mallards for granted but on close viewing they are very handsome birds with a metallic green to blue sheen on the head feathers of the drake and sometimes showing the bright blue white-bordered speculum.
