2047 Roll of Honour
The Korean War 1950 to 1953
Lieutenant R Nevill-Jones

Royal Navy

HMS Glory

Died on Tuesday 18 November 1952

Lieutenant R Nevill-Jones's name does not appear on the Commonwealth Memorial, Pusan, the Book of Remembrance at the National Army Museum, or in the Royal Navy's Roll of Honour. There is no obvious explanation for this oversight.

The incident, which led to his death, is described in "With the Carriers in Korea" by John R P Lansdown:

There was a marked increase in the flak on the 18th (November) which caused the death of Lieutenant R Nevill-Jones of 801 Squadron. His aircraft (Sea Fury) was hit by AA fire and he crashed into marshy ground while he was leading his division in a dive bombing attack on a rail bridge in the Chaeryoung area south of Sariwon.
