This annual event aims to bring all our members and visitors together to share a week of sports and activities; to socialise and have fun!

The Sunday afternoon is normally the Children's Sports Day...........catering for all ages and abilities.......this event is for every child who would like to participate.

Competitive Sports of Volley Ball, Miniten, Badminton, Petanque and even Crazy Golf, will take place throughout the week for the adults.

Monday  heralds the arrival of our regular visitors, The Suntreckers, who will be staying in our grounds until the following Monday.  That is recommendation itself for what a fun time Blackthorns provides!!

The rest of the week will host a variety of sporting competitions and general entertainment for all tastes.

The majority of our members will be staying the whole week on site in their caravans or tents.  Visitors are welcome to bring their own and we have electric hook ups, showers and toilets to use and the Clubhouse kitchen will be providing food and refreshments throughout the day. You are invited to bring your own food to cook in the evenings on our large communal under cover barbeque. This is in itself a social gathering around the coals and you can then sit in banquet style on the patio and put the world to rights over a leisurely meal.......bring your own wine as we are not licensed premises. Our week starts on the Saturday afternoon with a Welcome Party and this leads into an evening barbeque with an outdoor disco on the patio, weather permitting of course!  Don`t worry.......the weather is usually kind to us during Family Week and rain will never stop play......we will continue under the gazebo or move indoors!

The pool will host swimming events for all ages and abilities, and be used in between for pure relaxation.  You don't need to be energetic to join in!

There will be an afternoon put aside for the Ladies Cocktail Party when the men take their turn minding the little ones and the ladies take themselves off for a little fun and experiment with various concoctions! We each take an ingredient and then see how many ways we can put them together, adding a cherry on a stick and a parasol, of course!

There will be a day of Pub Games where all the traditional public house pastimes are played and the couple who do the best at skittles, darts, etc. become the overall winners.  Beer is optional and you provide your own!!

Another day will host the Horse Racing events.........this is always an exciting event despite there not being a real neigh in the neighbourhood !!  Come and see what I mean!  Fences are low, steaks are on the barbeque in the evening and taking part is as much fun as the winning!  Be warned......the cheering might well make you a little horse!

Friday will be Fish & Chip Supper in the evening with Bingo played for fun.

Whatever events are happening during the day, be they Tea Dances, Quizzes, or whatever is dreamt up and desired; the day will always finish with an evening barbeque on the patio and round off with music and dancing.

Saturday will be the finale with a Barn Dance on the lawn.......this is always much enjoyed by the novice or more experienced alike......the toe tapping live music is sure to get you up and dancing........once again "fun" is the important factor so feel free to join in.

Sunday is a wind down day when you can relax around the pool and chat with your new friends........you're guaranteed to have made some!

Further details about this years event can be seen on the poster above.

See you there!
