What Can I Do?
The future funding of Blandford Leisure Centre is now getting to a very critical stage, with the March 2010 deadline getting ever nearer, the funding path is still very unclear.
Is your town or parish council financially supporting this community facility?
If they are not, then now is the time to talk or write to your local Town or Parish Council. The best way to convince councils to support the leisure centre is for the local parishioners to contact their local council or councillor.
BLCAG has recently formally written to the county council for assistance in future funding, letter available here. Please talk or write to your local County Council Councillor seeking support to save this community facility. County Councillors details available here.
Support sample letter is available here.
Another way in which people are choosing to support the leisure centre is through donations. These could be used for modernisations to the centre, promotional activities, special projects, equipment or any other worthy activity that could help with saving the leisure centre. There is a running total of the current level of donations on the top of every page. The amount raised to date and any expenditure will be displayed on the BLCAG notice board at the Leisure Centre. You can make donations at the main reception of Blandford Leisure Centre. Further information is available here.
