The Future Funding of Blandford Leisure Centre

The BLCAG has written to all the parish and town councils in the DT11 area several times. They have been asked if they would like to see a presentation which is available here. They have also been asked if they could contribute to the future funding of the leisure centre.

Is your parish contributing? The cost of saving the leisure centre could be as little as 47p per band D house; this is the same price as buying a Mars bar every week. Do you think this is a price worth paying?

The map to your left shows every parish, and if they are contrubuting to the future of the leisure centre?. Below is a link to every parish in the DT11 area, and you can see the resposnse from your council and how to get in contact with them.

If they are not now is the time to talk to your local parish or town council. For more ways to help click here.

We have also been in contact with the District and County Councils and have written to them to see if they can help in securing the future funding of the leisure centre and we are awaiting their financial response.

Another avenue of funding being pursued is through the Primary Care Trust and local Doctor Practices, as the leisure centre has obvious health benefits tousers we are asking for their financial help. We have received support from Milton Abbas and Milborne St Andrew Practice and we have written to other practices, the letter is available here.

Turnworth, Winterbourne Clenston, Langton Long, Chettle and Handford are not listed below as they do not have the power to precept and are unable to fund the leisure centre currently. This power to precept can be granted by the District Council if the parish council was to make a request.
