Learn Native American 'Earth Skills' with Blue Skies.

Blue Skies strives to provide excellent standards and a quality service encouraging children and adults of all ages to have fun and positive adventures in the natural world. Sessions are specially arranged to suit your needs, chosen from the following skill areas:

primitive fire making
campcraft and outdoor living
nature awareness and silent movement
shelter building
wild edible and medicinal plants
natural rope making

fire lighting and primitive cooking
wildlife tracking
stalking and primitive hunting skills
primitive crafts
lost proofing and navigation

woodland skills and caretaking

Where?

Sessions can be arranged at a site of your choice.  Blue Skies can help you find a suitable site local to your group.  Alternatively, a Blue Skies site may be used. Please get in touch for details.

What?

Workshops are usually activity focused whereby skills are learnt through stories, songs, 'survival challenges' and games. Teamwork and co-operation are therefore important aspects in these sessions.

It is usually possible to take a maximum of 12 participants, however, these numbers could be increased with additional staff or volunteers. Similarly, we would also be happy to work with several smaller groups throughout a day.

Cost?

The fee for these workshop sessions is likely to be £150 per day (£100 for half day). This will include instruction, course preparation and most materials. Transport and site visits may be additional.

A cancellation fee of 25% (of total cost) will be charged if you have to cancel your booking. This will be raised to 50% if you cancel with less than 7 days notice.

PLEASE NOTE
These are very popular programmes. Availability is limited, so book early to avoid disappointment.

Corporate events will be charged at a higher rate. The profit from these events will then be used to develop and directly fund sponsorship programmes involving less privileged young people, or support the student bursary fund (scholarship programme).

Blue Skies is a small organisation and supports the work of other small, charitable organisations.  Therefore, it may be possible to negotiate a reduced rate if necessary.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss this further, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
