A new permanent site has been secured for Earth Skills courses and community involvement.

Blue Skies residential camps offer a fantastic opportunity to take part in an authentic outdoor wilderness experience with a supportive community atmosphere. Getting back to our roots of community living, working together, helping each other and sharing our experiences are important elements of our ethos.

Food
Cooking over open fires is an experience not to be missed! All meals are provided and wholesome organic and local food is sourced wherever possible. Although Blue Skies staff prepare and cooks most of the meals for family camps, everybody is expected to help out preparing and cooking food for shared meals. For older children a rota will be made on the first day and staff will support the preparation and cooking of meals.

Accommodation
We will live primitively, wild camping in tents and the communal tipi with 'wild facilities'. Blue Skies may be able to provide a tent if you need.

 

Please get in touch if you would like to hire the woodland for your event. We would also really appreciate any help to careake the land. Conservation tasks include thinning, gorse clearance, tree planting, wild flower meadow creation, and plenty more!

Where?
Roeburn Wood is very easy to get to. It iis situated just a 30 minute walk from the town of Helensburgh, west of Glasgow. It is best accessed by train to Helenburgh Central railway station a short journey from Glasgow.
