Brewery Visits
As part of our
commitment to supporting smaller independent breweries we run several Brewery
Visits during the course of a year. Some are fairly local and arranged for a
week-night, whilst others are part of Saturday day-trips. Coach/minibus trips
pick up at Pontefract and Wakefield but arrangements can usually also be made
for picking up at South Kirkby. Other trips make use of the region's public
transport network. Some brewers make a small charge which may also cover
something to eat, but the opportunities for sampling are usually very
liberal or unlimited! Watch the Branch Diary for
forthcoming trips. Come with us via the Brewery Picture Gallery.

Visits in 2009
Saturday 17 January 2009 saw Wakefield CAMRA's
Festival Workers' Outing in Derbyshire to visit these breweries: Brampton
at Chesterfield, Ashover at Ashover and Spire
at Staveley. On Tuesday 27th January there's a visit to Clark's Brewery
Wakefield, and on Sunday 22nd February a day at the seaside visiting the East
Coast Brewery at Filey. In March the branch visited Mallinsons
Brewery at Lindley, Huddersfield. Also displayed are pictures from a local
pub visit to Theakstons at Masham. The May visit
was to the new Five
Towns Brewery in Outwood - so tiny that we spit the group over two nights!
In late June a long awaited visit was made to Southport
Brewery, with the Thornbridge Hall Garden Hall Party in early July affording an
opportunity to meet the brewers at Thornbridge. August's visit was to Golcar
Brewery.
