DREAMS OF BEASTS
This was our first large-scale site-specific production performed in Carlisle Cathedral and its grounds. Inspired by the unique misericord carvings it used original music, song, dance, puppets (some of which flew over the Cathedral audience), stilt walking and acrobatics, to explore the human relationship with the spiritual (both divine and pagan). A cast of over a hundred drawn from schools, colleges, amateur and youth theatre groups, members of the surrounding communities, and learning and physically disabled groups worked with two professional actors and a professional production team.

Some Press Comments about Dreams of Beasts
"Constantly exciting, employing an explosive cocktail of professional competence and confident risk-taking."
"A dynamic visual dimension."
"Manipulation of the several sub-plots was masterly in its simplicity. Dialogue was tight and to the point with a good sprinkling of humour which at times packed a drop-kick that left the audience gasping."
"A sonorous use of poetic language that rang perfectly in the ecclesiastical setting."
"The engagement of the audience spoke volumes at times quite literally in Oohs and Aahs as mythical beasts flew overhead and as we were treated to displays of stilt-walking, puppetry, dance, live music, humour, debate and enchantment."
