30th UK Convention 1st till 4th May 2009

The 2009 UK Convention is finally open and ready for business! We at the Berth Marks and Chickens Come Home Tents are all very excited to be co-hosting this landmark 30th UK Convention and we would be honoured if you and other Sons from your tent could come along too. The convention is to take place over the May Bank Holiday Weekend in 2009, at the Cumbria Grand Hotel and will include trips to Morecambe Winter Gardens - where the Boys played in 1947 - and Ulverston - where they also visited in 1947. Dave Wilky and I formed the tent back in 1998 and since the first meeting (which our present Grand Sheik Bill Bailey came along to) we have never looked back. To commemorate our birthday (and because the last one was held together with plastic plumbing rods and rubber bands!) I have been hard at work on a new and improved tent banner - which will be out on show at the upcoming Ulverston Carnival. It's even got pom-poms along the bottom - a reference to my favourite short film!"
