Bowler Dessert's third
DVD features more classic events in the company of the Sons
of the Desert.
UK Convention 2005 (9
minutes)
The fun and laughter enjoyed by Sons of the Desert at
their 26th UK Convention in Bournemouth are captured,
including the games on the beach, the cinema show, the
dealers' tables, the fancy dress parade, the trip by boat
and steam train, some communal singing and, above all, the
conviviality.
Laurel and HarDay
2004 (9 minutes)
The Bacon Grabbers Tent's annual event in Wigan is like a
whole convention crammed into one day. The 2004 gathering
had the usual attractions such as the charity auction and
the Kneesie-Earsie-Nosey World Championship. But a special
event featured Anne Robinson (or was it a lookalike?)
interrogating and reproaching some Grand Sheiks in The
Missing Link. Witness Anne's venomous chastisements and
squirm for the poor victims.
Ulverston Carnival
2005 (4 minutes)
The annual Ulverston Carnival has become a regular event
in the calendar of many Sons of the Desert, who congregate
in the town of Stan Laurel's birth. The Sons join in the fun
by parading through the town in a fashion befitting Stan and
Ollie themselves.
Ulverston at
Christmas 2004 (6 minutes)
A Dickensian festival provided a Yuletide break and a
flea circus proved a popular act. Chestnuts, antiques and
street entertainers all added to the charm.
