Sailors visit The Railway

The Sailors Beware Tent visited The Railway in Wilmslow, on 16th April, when twenty-five members made the short trip across town. Laurel and Hardy enthusiast and landlord Nick Quinn has a collection of Laurel and Hardy memorabilia housed in one of the rooms in the pub.

Stuart Green says, "We were treated to a tater pie supper served on black and white crockery, in keeping with the film period, with black and white napkins! A quick quiz was followed by three superb helpings of Laurel and Hardy on the big screen to complete a very enjoyable evening. What a fine collection Nick has amassed with the help of his regulars. Nick's pub is now getting a name for a very friendly welcome - and justifiably so. A great evening was enjoyed and the local press turned out to cover the event. Thanks from all at Sailors Beware. We hope to drop anchor again soon."

Stuart insists that The Railway is a "must do pilgrimage" for Sons everywhere. It is at Station Road, Handforth, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 3AB.

Grand Sheik Graeme Green (above left), on behalf of the tent, presented Nick with two mounted statues of the Boys - in sailor outfits, of course!
