SonDayz 2008

HOME

Bergen op Zoom in the Netherlands will go Way Out West at the SonDayz on 22nd, 23rd and 24th August. The three-day event will be organised by the Jitterbugs Tent and the Saps at Sea Tent.

At a castle in the centre of the town there will be an open-air show, a trip to a western theme park in Belgium and Laurel and Hardy Olympics.

The Friday night meal will be at a Bohemian restaurant. On Saturday there will be a Thai buffet in a cellar, and later a barbecue with free drinks.

The price (excluding accommodation) is 120 euros or 85 GBP. For this you will receive dinner each day, free drinks (as much as you like) on the Saturday evening and all day Sunday, the trip to the theme park, open-air film shows and more!

Payment can be made all at once or in six instalments through PayPal, or via the Jitterbugs' bank account. A website will be set up shortly. The organisers offer to help you to find a good hotel for a reasonable price.

  • There are plans to bring the 2009 event to England - to Southend, to be precise.

UPDATE 28.06.08.

Well, who would have believed that half the summer has gone and we haven't yet really seen any decent spell of summer in the UK? So come on, Laurel and Hardy fans, let's make up for lost time and enjoy the second half of the summer. Some of us are lucky enough to be heading to Amsterdam in July for the International Convention. It sure should be swell.

But how about August? Have you got anything planned? It will be GREAT weather and there is a GREAT Laurel and Hardy event, not to be missed. This will be a terrific weekend. I spoke to Hans and, over the next couple of weeks, "the Finishing Touches" will be put into place. The Saps will be supporting this event and already a number of members have expressed strong interest in going. Now we need to take this one step further in confirmation to me of your attending, so that I can make appropriate arrangements. We hope that a good number of other Sons will join the Jitterbugs and the Saps at the SonDayz 2008 to have the time of their lives.
