Mark Bushell
writes, "I can now confirm that due to technical
problems with the vehicle in question (and an
illness of one of our invited guests) the
bus will now be launched on
Thursday 4th
September at
12.30pm, outside the new premises of the world
famous Laurel and Hardy Museum at Oubas Hill,
Ulverston. We would be delighted if any of your
friends could make this new date."
Earlier...
A Celebration Stan Laurel Bus will be
launched in front of the new Laurel and Hardy
Museum premises, in Ulverston, on
Friday 29th
August at 12.30pm. The bus
will be officially opened by Jeanette Jenkinson,
(Mayor of Ulverston), Marion Grave (Laurel and
Hardy Museum) and others.
Organiser Mark Bushell says, "The bus is
resplendent with images from Stan's career and
charts his life, from his birth in Ulverston, to
his death in the USA. The bus has been produced
to encourage passengers of all ages to engage
with the vehicle and find out a little more
about the life of one of the legends of comedy.
It is also hoped that the vehicle will encourage
people to leave their cars at home and use
public transport."
Mark enthuses, "I would be delighted if
you could invite as many of your friends and
members as possible to the launch as we want to
make it have a party atmosphere."
