The RABBIT RUN is just over 12km, on rural roads and paths, about half of it traffic-free. In its’ first running, last year, there were 64 starters, (plus a further 130 in the 6k Funny Bunny Run), and the winners were Robbie Kerr and Zoe Sewter, both from Melbourne.
.
There is also a team competition, with teams of four representing your club, pub, work-place, or simply a group of friends. The aim is to win “bragging rights” in Melbourne and the surrounding villages, and the proud holders of the “Bragging Rights Trophy” are Icke Fitness, from Wilson.

The first three male and female finishers will be awarded gold, silver and bronze (coloured!) medals, and the winners will also receive a “Winner 2009” yellow t-shirt, Tour de France style! All other finishers will receive a commemorative medal. There are three things to fit into your day at the Melbourne Fun Run - a bit of competition, a bit of a fun day out, and hopefully, a lot of fund-raising for your own choice of charity. Please try to raise some sponsorship for your run, from family and friends, and you’ll find your achievements are so much more worthwhile! You can specify your own charity, or if you’ve nothing specific in mind, donate your money to Melbourne Rotary Club, who support a wide variety of good causes, both locally and throughout the world.
The closing date for entries is 18th April, so that we know in advance how many runners to expect, but we will still accept late entries, up to the day of the event if necessary. Please try to get your entry in early though - it will be cheaper than leaving it to the last minute!
