Information and Awareness – Part 1 – 1 day course including:

Information and Awareness – Part 2 - 1 day course including:

  • Support and supervision for frontline workers

Information and Awareness – 1/2 day taster courses including:

  • Initial steps when dealing with disclosure

Domestic Violence – Why does it happen? – 1/2 day course particularly relevant to police officers including:

  • Exploring Domestic Violence from the perpetrators perspective
  • The ‘Dominator’
  • The intents and beliefs that underpin Domestic Violence
  • The ‘Rules of the Game’

Domestic Violence and Children – 1 day course including:

  • Effects of Domestic Violence on parenting
  • Effects on babies, children and young people
  • Risk assessment
  • Dealing with disclosure
  • Helpful interventions

Domestic Violence – Resources and Referrals – 1/2 day course including:

  • Myths about Domestic Violence
  • Referrals and people from marginalized groups
  • Making a good referral from the clients point of view
  • Resources available

Domestic Violence – Longer Term Support – 1/2 day course including:

  • The process of Domestic Violence
  • Principles of offering support
  • Practical issues
  • Helping people to move on

Introducing routine enquiry for midwives and health visitors – 1/2 day course including:

  • Role of the health care professional
  • Asking questions
  • Risk assessment
  • Documentation and confidentiality
  • Safety strategies

These courses can be developed or altered to meet specific requests and two half day sessions can be put together to make up a full days training.

Courses related to ‘Risk Assessment and Risk Management’ and ‘Domestic Violence and Mental Health’ are also available. Training has been delivered in many areas and the evaluation has been of a very high standard.

Costs to be delivered in your area and including a preparatory planning meeting and appropriate handouts:

1/2 days training (4 hours) = from £300 + mileage costs + expenses
1 days training (8 hours) = from £400 + mileage costs + expenses
2 days training (16 hours) = from £725 + mileage costs + expenses
