Training for Trainers in Domestic Violence
This 3 day course is run by 2 expert trainers
who have been running this as an accredited course through
the Open College Network. The course has been continually
evaluated and modified. It has also been adapted to meet the
needs of individual groups.
The course is specifically for workers who are
nominated by their organisations to deliver Domestic Violence
Awareness Training within their own agency or department or
to be part of a training pool.
Participants will be given the opportunity to:
- Gain further understanding of Domestic Violence
- Develop and practise their training
skills in a safe environment, including:
- the ability to include participants
needs in training
- to anticipate and deal with difficult
situations
- Gain information of and experience sample
programmes and exercises in Domestic Violence Awareness
training
Each participant is given individual feedback
on their performance on the course. All participants are given
a comprehensive training manual and resource pack that will
give them a broad range of training exercises of varying length
and depth and appropriate handouts for each exercise.

"This was excellent value for money.
I feel extremely confident now that the county will be able
to deliver a series of training days. I was very impressed
by the development of the group over the 3 days and I believe
this was facilitated by the expertise of the trainers. The
trainers complimented each other and provided a safe, secure
and yet relaxed environment. All the participants gained a
lot from the variety of activities.I am now confident
that we can set up a training pool to ensure that all frontline
staff are appropriately trained."
"This course has really inspired the
