The King Alfred Concert Band was founded in 1981 under the directorship of Martyn Owen, who was then Head of Music at KAS. Since that time, many students have passed through the Band and have gone on to pursue their studies or join the work world. Many tributes have been expressed for Nathan by his friends and those who knew him. We, as Band members would like to add our own special tribute by remembering him through a few of the many pictures taken of him over the four years he was with us as our drummer.
Nathan had many friends in the Band and his love of fun, laughter and friendship was evident to all. The Band will be giving a summer concert on July 20th in his memory with all proceeds being given to the Nathan Edwards Sports Academy Fund.

WIND BAND FESTIVAL AT CLEVEDON
Some of of our Band members attended a Wind Band Festival at Clevedon which was held on a weekend last October. The event took place in a very large rambling Victorian Hotel, an ideal venue for such an event. Mike, who also enjoyed the musical weekend, said " It was challenging, great fun and a wonderful opportunity to play with musicians from other bands". Chrisie
