Our Aims |
The Forres Osprey Trust was established in 1973 as a non-profit making charity in order to provide free transport to the elderly, infirm and handicapped residents of Forres and the local area. |
User Groups |
A number of organisations are currently supported by the Trust including
|
The Trustees |
Having donated the original minibus, RAF Kinloss is closely involved with the organisation and running of the Osprey Trust. The Station Commander acts as Chairman of the Trustees and a number of personnel hold key posts on the Osprey Trust Committee. The remaining Trustees represent many local community groups such as Forres Arthritis Care, The Community Council and local GPs. |
The Osprey Bus |
The Trust owns a 15-seat minibus that is used to allow people to take part in social and recreational activities that they would not otherwise have access to. Some of the seats can be removed to accommodate wheelchairs and there is a hoist at the rear of the bus. The bus operates in Forres and the surrounding areas. There are a number of volunteer drivers for the various groups who use the bus. The bus is heavily utilised between April and October but in less demand through the winter months. The Trust is currently embarking on a fund raising campaign in order to raise approximately £10,000 to replace the current minibus in 2005. Any donations are always gratefully received and anybody wishing to support the Trust in any way should contact The Osprey Trust Secretary, at RAF Kinloss (Telephone number 01309 672161 ext 7628). |
