WHAT A CRAZY WORLD
Michael Carreras, 1963

The atmosphere of East Side London filled with rough humor and gutsy vitality is created for the exposure of a barrage of early 1960s London Rockers. Brown is a kid from a working class family who is expected to go out and find a job and continue in the same manner as the rest of his family. Instead, he decides that music is the path for him and sets out to peddle a song. In this way he hopes to avoid the despair of his forebears. Unfortunately, the unfolding is done in a form as predictable as that of the usualpoor-boy-seeking-independence story. Stars: Joe Brown, Susan Maughan, Marty Wilde (Kim's (London production of 'Tommy') dad), Freddy and the Dreamers. A sort of 'EastEnders' with songs! Filmed in London's East End and at ABPC Elstree studios.

Song List: 1. Our Local Labour Exchange Has Gone to Wreck and Ruin! 2. Brothers. 3. O What a Family! 4. I Hate Alfred Hitchens. 5. Twisting The Night Away.(Freddie and the Dreamers) 6. Sally Ann.(ditto) 7. Wasn't it a Handsome Punchup? 8. What a Crazy World. 9. This is my First Romance. 10. Independence. 11. You're Not the Only.... 12. To Give them all the things we Never Had. 13. I'm Gonna Be Somebody Someday. 14. Finale-What a Crazy World!
