Dave studied Fine Art at Oxford University, and then proceeded to teach himself the art of casting, metalwork and sculpting. His inspirations derive from the work and skills of the stone and bronze ages, the Medieval view of celestial mechanics and the spiritual Humanism of the Renaissance.

In recent years, he has been working with Spirit Horse Nomadic Circle, a Celtic Shamanic group in Wales.

If there is a single theme to his work, then it is the connecting of seemingly opposing worlds; ancient and modern; spiritual and material; heaven and earth.

He runs various bronze casting workshops, appears regularly at Glastonbury Festival, and has recently recorded a programme on Bronze Age metalwork for television.

Dave is married and has two children.
