The practice of making metal offerings to the spirit world was widespread and common amongst the more civilised peoples of the world. Often everday working items were used, but sometines purpose made offerings were produced such as these miniature axe heads. Examples of designs from EBA, MBA and LBA are available, which together show the development of axe design from flat to socketed.
