BERTHING AND CHARGES

Members will appreciate that the club pontoons are an excellent asset, however to avoid unfair use by just a few, or complaints from the many, an element of control and discipline is required, hence the need to adopt the below rules and charging policy. To date they have been effective in permitting more members to come alongside and make use of the facilities.

Pontoon Rules

4.3 Club / Visitors Pontoon Rules / Fees. – Club and Visiting yachts are welcome to berth on sea-ward side of outer pontoon only. Please ensure sufficient space for dinghy launching.’

Club members are entitled to 24 hours free berthing (in any 7 day period)

There-after a charge of £3 per day for a maximum 1 week at Jetty Masters discretion.

A charge of £5 per day will be levied if this period is exceeded, or done so without Jetty Masters approval.

Visitors will be expected to pay £3 (non refundable) as a deposit on a Compound Key for access to club facilities

(Visitors will also be regarded as temporary members for the duration of the stay.)

Permanent Berth holders, that is those members who have entered in to a written contract with the Sailing Club, and lodged £2000 as a loan to the club, or issued with a 12 month contract will be entitled to a berth on the pontoon, for the life of their contract (maximum 25 year term). In addition berth holders will be expected to pay a berthing fee of £1 per foot ( in the case of 12 month contracts rate of £1.25 per foot) (or as agreed by the Management Committee) for the overall length of the boat, per month, for 12 months each and every year. This will apply whether the berth holder's vessel is on the pontoon or in the club compound. Further conditions written in  the loan scheme are available on request.

Seasonal Berth holders, those members who successfully apply in writing for a summer berth, a period of approx 6 months, will be expected to pay £1 per ft of their vessel's overall length, every month, for a period of 6 months. Those members who successfully apply for a winter berth will be required to pay 50p per ft of their vessels length for a period of 6 months. These members will not be required to contribute to the loan to the club.

Occasional Berth Holders will be those members allocated a berth on a short term basis, such as a week or so when space is available.

All monies due for Seasonal, Occasional, or daily berthing will be collected by way of invoice to the member concerned, and issued by Sidonie Ball (Assisting Steve Short Pontoon Officer)

To assist in the prioritising and allocation of berths they will be allocated on a first come first served basis. In the case of PERMANENT and SEASONAL Berths the application should in the first instance be sent in writing to the Club Secretary, David Humphrey. Verbal requests via committee members or Officers of the Club will be insufficient notice. All other requests must be passed to Steve Short, Pontoon Officer.
