LOCAL NOTICE TO MARINERS NO 05 OF 2017

Hinkley Point C Survey Operations



Mariners are advised that from 10th April 2017 for approximately three weeks, the vessel MV Cerys Line will be conducting hydrographic and magnetometer survey operations. The works are in preparation for the instillation of Hinkley Point C cooling water intake and outfall heads. The location of the heads is marked on the below chart section, the survey will be conducted in area of up to approximately 650 metres around each of the six heads. The survey vessel engaged will be restricted in its ability to manoeuvre and will display the lights and shapes in accordance with the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea 1972 (as amended) Rule 27b. The vessel will maintain a listening watch on VHF channel 16. Masters of vessels within this area are requested to proceed with caution and maintain minimum safe distance of 500 metres.
