NEW ARRANGEMENTS FOR CLUB MAINTENANCE

To all those members who attended the work party on Saturday 7th November, many thanks to you all. Despite the early threat of  torrential rain the morning stayed dry and many projects were completed on the pontoons, compound, clubhouse, bosuns locker, and work boat. A fantastic achievement by you all. It was  great to see so many new faces.

You will by now have been notified of new arrangements for work parties. Further details and explanation are in the STOP GAP

There are now 8 areas of responsibility for maintenance, each group  led by a team leader and his deputy. All sailing members will be expected to attend 4 work parties a year, for social members this is optional.

A full list of maintenance jobs, and the teams are exhibited in the STOP GAP on the new notice-board.

We have made a start on this work but there is still much to be achieved. It is essential that members give this their full support. Further details....

YOUR BOAT NOW CRANED OUT - SAILS & REPAIRS
Now your boat is craned out is it time to look at your sails and canvas work and get it valeted and repaired before you stow it for winter?

Sail valeting £5 a kg see Nikki, your sails will come back non Burnham mud colour! and all the salt and mud  off helps them set better and keep longer
It is best to do this before you pack them up for the winter so they are dry and clean in storage and it is not a mad rush to be ready for crane in.

We also can repair any wear and check batten pocket elastics/ replace boom/ main slides UV strips.

Sails are done in first come first served order so please do book your sails place in the sail loft.

If you want Nikki to take them in please
 1) label your sail bag  with your name phone number(s) and what you want done( luggage label / duck tape)
2) if you take out the battens your bill will be smaller ( battens can take ages to come out/ in)
3) if you want advise please call 01275 343585 RnJ sails
