SAFETY

The Health and Safety of all club members is paramount in all our club activities. All members have an equal responsibility to ensure the safety of others. In addition The Safety Officer, Steve Short will generate risk assessments and advise members of our policies on such occasions as Crane In Operations.

 

As regards safety in the compound please observe the following:
  1. REMOVE all GAS, INFLAMMABLE LIQUIDS and PETROL from boats over winter.
  2. Secure ladders to boats when using them.
  3. Ensure all electrical cables and appliances you use are fit for purpose, please coil up cables afterwards and remove plug from socket. Compound earth leakage trips will break the circuit if there is faulty equipment.Please turn off all electrical appliances when leaving the boat.
  4. Do NOT use electrical appliances in wet conditions.
  5. Those members requiring dehumidifiers, or space heaters in their boats MUST ensure their is NO RISK of fire.
  6. Do NOT GENERATE SPARKS inside the garage - beware of stored petrol in outboards etc.
  7. Please keep the emergency fire escape, and clubhouse staircase clear of any obstruction.
