Celebrating Kathy Kirby at the Burtey Fen Collection ....

Kathy Kirby was one of Britain's
most glamorous stars of the 1960s ... trademark glossy lips, blonde hair, big
voice and sparkling personality. Her first taste of stardom came when she
appeared in the AR-TV series 'Stars and Garters' -
which led on to her own BBC series during 64 / 65 - ' The Kathy Kirby Show '.
She was also a popular guest on other TV programmes of the time, such as
'Sunday Night at the London Palladium'.
Kathy was among the line up for the 1964 'Royal Variety Performance' and
represented Great Britain in the 1965 'Eurovision Song Contest'. Top 20 hits
included 'Secret Love', 'Dance On',
'You're the one' and 'Let me go lover'.
Kathy is also remembered for her vocal on the signature tune of the cult TV show
'Adam Adamant Lives'.
Besides being a top TV and recording star, Kathy performed in memorable summer seasons at
Blackpool, Margate, Paignton and Brighton, plus a nationwide tour with Tom Jones in 1967.
We have two special display's of memorabilia from
Kathy's years as the 'golden girl of pop'…( see the first tribute housed in the
coffee bar above) - which includes signed photos, sheet music of Kathy's
recordings and five large original show posters.
