Wednesday 7th June 2006 was a very hot day with sun, sun and more sun, which made it all the more enjoyable for everyone involved. I have fond memories of picnicking and walking with my parents as a small child in the park. So when asked, to do a demonstration, I was very excited to be part of the event and as a bonus, it is just a stones throw away from where I live in Winkfield Row. Nevertheless, it is still an early start in order to get everything ready for the arrival of the school children. I showed them how to turn a chair leg from a section of log using the traditional methods of cleaving, trimming, shaving and turning. Intermittent with bowl turning and small scale charcoal burning. On display were settee and side chairs.
