Freda is head of music at a South Tyneside comprehensive school and is a  lecturer of piano and keyboard at South Tyneside College. She trained at Newcastle School of Music and Cardiff College of Education at  the University Of Wales.

Freda has been involved in many local performances with amateur and professional organisations and she has been musical director of many shows.
