to the web pages of Jarrow Musical Theatre Company. Formed in 1954
and originally named Jarrow Community Amateur Operatic and Dramatic
Society (yes - a bit of a mouthful), we performed our first show,
Iolanthe, in 1955. After all this time, the enthusiasm and dedication of the members of the society remains strong. We usually present three shows each year - a pantomime, a summer concert and a well known musical. When you come to our shows, you see one part of a large team working together to give you the best performance possible. We depend on a small army of production people, musicians, set designers and builders, stage crew, a lighting technician, front of house staff - all dedicated enthusiasts who make our performance what it is. Our main emphasis is to enjoy what we do – which is perform our shows to the very best of our ability. We have a very friendly atmosphere and an active social scene. Jarrow Musical Theatre Company is affiliated to the National Operatic and Dramatic Association. |
