to the web pages of Jarrow Musical Theatre Company. Formed in 1954
and originally named Jarrow Community Amateur Operatic and Dramatic
Society (yes - a bit of a mouthful), we performed our first show,
Iolanthe, in 1955. After all this time, the enthusiasm and dedication of the members of the society remains strong. We present at least two shows each year - a pantomime and a well known musical. When you come to our shows, you see one part of a large team working together to give you the best performance possible. We depend on a small army of production people, musicians, set designers and builders, stage crew, a lighting technician, front of house staff - all dedicated enthusiasts who make our performance what it is. Our main emphasis is to enjoy what we do – which is perform our shows to the very best of our ability. We have a very friendly atmosphere and an active social scene. Jarrow Musical Theatre Company is affiliated to the National Operatic and Dramatic Association.
