CATIA V5 Training
The facilities, the hardware, the instructor, the course format and
the material on which it based, all contribute to the quality and
effectiveness of a training course. I have found that generally
both the course format and the material are of a poor standard...
Why? - because the course format is based on the training
material, and this is typically little more than a collection of
pretty but pointless screen-dumps, providing the nominal course
material required, but specifically not intended to be of much use
later without the presence and input from the instructor.
This is a pity, especially considering that many engineers may not even
use the same CAD software on a regular basis, and that a vast array of
new functions and concepts are introduced during training.
Of course, it's easy to criticise, which is why I have generated my
own material, intended to have the following advantages...
- A series of 'best practice' fully illustrated worked
examples are explained from first principles, to
maximise hands-on time and uniquely allow for varying
speeds of progress.
- These examples, together with question and answer sections,
provide genuine insight, and also compliment (rather than
duplicate) the standard on-line documentation.
- Printed in colour to aid icon identification, and spirally bound
to fold flat for ease of use, these manuals provide both a
proven and effective course structure, and a useful
source for future reference.
