There is an ongoing project to install a fully working lever controlled signalling system
for the ground level track.

Controlling the Signals and Points.

A signal lever unit is being modified and extensively altered to enable it to
be used on the ground level track to control signals and points,
all operated from the signal box.

It will operate with a combination of low voltage (24 volt) electricity and pneumatic (air)
operated rams moving the signals and points.
A compressed air ring main will feed the system from an
air reservoir located in the signal box.

Signal Lever Wiring
By the middle of November the main lever wiring was well underway,
the unit has been partly dismantled for painting (the levers are not attached).

Dave Explaining System
On the 9th January 2005, club members were given a talk on how the system
will operate by Dave, one of the projects designers.

By July 2005 a lot of unseen work had been completed, including
more wiring to the signal lever unit and the first 'points' motor installed and connected.
Points Motor
Situated just outside the signal box, this is the first points motor in place,
which has been installed to test the various electrical and air systems.

By April 2006 a lot more work had been done including an extensive
underground trunking system, to carry both electrical cable and air supplies to the signal positions.

The wiring for the signal levers has also progressed well.

Progress has been going well and by July 2006 more wiring and air lines have been installed,
also more connections have been made to the signal levers.
