| We normally run one of the tracks (either Raised or Ground Level) each Sunday Afternoon in the Summer for public rides. | |
| |
|
| Situated in Ridgeway Park, Peel Close, Off Church Road, Chingford, London E4. | |
| The club's railway consists of two layouts a Ground Level and a Raised Level Track. | |
| Every Sunday morning (all year) you will find a group of members at the track finding something to do, if it's only having a cup of tea and a chat (there's a lot of that). | |
| The club also holds it's Wednesday Evening Meetings (from 7pm) at the park between May and September, when the track is in use, with members running either their own, or one of the club's locomotives. | |
| So if you are interested in finding out more about joining the club, come along on either a Sunday Morning (all year) or on a Wednesday Evening during the summer . | |
| As a condition of the club's lease with the London Borough of Waltham Forest on whose land the railway is constructed, we have to operate the track for public running every Sunday Afternoon between April and the end of September. | |
| Club membership is arranged in rota's for operating the railways. Which normally involves a member attending four or five times a year to fulfil their rota duty. | |

| Operated from Larkswood Station the track can run both 5 inch and 71/4 inch gauge locomotives and rolling stock and has a full points system and turntable. | |
| The club's locomotives for this include 'Coal Fired Steam', 'Electric' and 'Petrol ' powered engines. | |
| Due to the track layout with passing loops several trains can be in operation together and it is normal to have Two or Three trains running on public days. | |
| Work is progressing to upgrade the points to enable them to be operated from the Signal Box at Larkswood. | |
| Completed and opened to the public in 1995, the track is 2000 feet long with more planned, the route normally used on public running days gives a Six minute ride. | |
| On normal Sunday Public running days, either the Raised Track, OR Ground Level track, will run, but on a few special occasions both tracks can be in operation together. | |

| Ridgeway Station is the normal operating location for this track, but when the Ground Level Track is also in use, Willow Tree Halt is used to avoid members of the public having to cross the working Ground Level line to get to the station platform. | |
| Club's Locomotives for this track include 'Coal Fired Steam' & 'Electric' powered engines. | |
| The track is also dual gauge (31/2 & 5 inch) and is 1000 feet long, equipped with fully automatic colour signalling, which enables several trains to be on the track together, on public running Sundays there can be as many as three trains running at the same time. | |
| This track (raised level) is used more often for the the Sunday Afternoon public running sessions than the ground level track. | |
| In the early part of 2007, some of the raised track was re-furbished | Track Work | | |
