Main sites:
Black Park   (TQ010836) Habitat: Managed mixed Woodland, with areas of conifer plantations, plus an small area of open heath and a lake.

 

Species: All year: Common Waterbirds on the lake and common Woodland species.  Summer: Hobby, Tree Pipit and other Heathland species; Whitethroat, Garden Warbler, Blackcap, Chiff-chaff, Willow Warbler and Redpoll. Passage: occasional raptor, such as Buzzard;  plus passerines, including the occasional Redstart, Wood Warbler, Pied Flycatcher and Firecrest. Winter: Winter finches, such as Brambling and occasionally Crossbills. Rarities: the site does not have any notable rarity records, though a Great Grey Shrike was found one winter some years ago. 
Denham Country Park           (TQ048865) Habitat: Woodland and glades alongside the River Colne, with some areas of grassland.

 

Species: All year: Common Woodland species.  Summer: Hobby; Blackcap, Chiff-chaff and Willow Warbler. Passage: occasional raptor, such as Buzzard;  plus passerines, including the occasional Wheater and Whichat, with a possability of Redstart, Pied Flycatcher and Firecrest. Winter: the odd Little Egret, Fieldfare, Redwing, Redpoll and other finches. Rarities: the site does not have any notable rarity records, though Little Egrets have been present in recent winters.
Langley Park   (TQ013814) Habitat: Managed Woodland, with areas open parkland and a fishing lake.

 

Species: All year: Little Owl, Ring-necked Parakeet and Common Woodland species and Yellowhammer.  Summer: Reed Warbler, Blackcap, Chiff-chaff and Willow Warbler.  Passage: occasional raptor, such as Hobby;  plus passerines such as Wheater, Whinchat and possibly Redstart. Winter: Fieldfare, Redwing and winter finches, such as Brambling. Rarities: the site does not have any notable rarity records. 
Thorney Country Park           (TQ044790) Habitat: Gravel pit with well developed bankside vegetation, including reeds, with areas of poor grass on an old infill area.

 

Species: Summer: Common Terns on raft, and Sedge and Reed Warblers, Blackcap, and Willow Warbler. Passage: the odd rare Grebe has been recorded; a few waders, including a Purple Sandpiper once; plus passerines, such as Tree Pipit, wheater or Whinchat. Winter: the odd are Grebe has been recorded; Goosander, Ruddy Duck; and Chiff-chaff. Rarities: the site does not have any notable rarity records, though a Purple Sandpiper was a good site record.
