Abney Park Nature Reserve         (TQ333868) Habitat: Woodland Species: All year: Sparrowhawk, Stock Dove and Lesser Spotted Woodpecker. Summer: Blackcap, Chiff-chaff and Spotted Flycatcher. Passage: Willow Warbler, Firecrest and Pied Flycatcher. Winter: possible Chiff-chaff.
Middlesex Filter Beds           (TQ359865) Habitat: dis-used man made filter beds.

Access at weekends only between 10am and 4pm.

Species: All year: Common waterbirds and Tree Sparrow. Summer: Sedge and Reed Warbler, Whitethroat, Blackcap, Chiff-chaff and Willow Warbler. Passage: common waders such as Ringed Plover, Redshank, Greenshank, Green and Common Sandpipers; Spotted Flycatcher, and Brambling. Winter: increase in wildfowl; Water Rail; occasional Jack Snipe; Chiff-chaff.
Stoke Newington Reservoir  (TQ326876) Habitat: dis-used man made reservoir set in a heavy urban area.

NO public access at the present time.

Species: All year: Ruddy Duck. Summer: most common waterbirds can be found. Passage: Red-crested Pochard (autumn), Blackcap, Willow warbler and Chiff-chaff. Winter: increase in wildfowl, especially Gadwall, with the odd Red-crested Pochard still present.
